siddhartha

well its about time i finished another book. always difficult to find some quiet time without falling asleep in this heat.

here's what i got out of it:

* Siddhartha points out "When someone seeks, then it happens all too easily that his eyes will see only the thing he is seeking, that he cannot find anything, cannot let anything in, because he is always thinking only of that thing he seeks, because he has a goal, because he is possessed by the goal. Seeking means: having a goal. But finding means: being free, being open, having no goal."

* "One can convey knowledge but not wisdom. One can find wisdom, one can live it, one can be borne by it, one can work wonders with it, but one can neither speak it nor teach it."

* "Time is not real.... And if time is not real, then the span that seems to lie between world and eternity, between suffering and bliss, between evil and good, also is an illusion."

now if you're interested in these key points, i'll be glad to explain and elaborate on them. after all each point can be a book on its own, but none the less VERY insightful.
